This beautiful bird’s-eye-view image of mankind’s passage through the ocean of air makes a great wall-art hanging or gift for any pilot, aerospace professional, or enthusiast.  Seen here at monitor resolution of only 72dpi, this is an actual photograph of the aircraft in flight, not super-imposed or special effects.  The skyscape images are custom printed on highest quality 13x19-in. paper, which, if combined with a 5-inch mat and, say, a 3-inch frame, gives you a really nice, approximately 35-inch wide wall-hanging piece.  And each skyscape will have the color saturation and resolution necessary to render the beauty of the scene, and each will provide years and years of viewing enjoyment when properly displayed as any photograph should be.  The copyright mark does not appear on prints unless the High Flight text overlay is ordered.

Plus, with any order, you’ll also receive, by e-mail attachment, your choice of a 1024- or 1280-wide digital image, with or without the High Flight (HF) text overlay (selection options are below) to use in your screensaver or wallpaper list.

This beautiful bird’s-eye-view image of mankind’s passage through the ocean of air is overlayed with the most resonating poem on flight ever penned, High Flight.  The poem was written by John Gillespie Magee, Jr., who was an 18-year-old American when he went to Britain in October 1940, during World War II, to join the Royal Canadian Air Force.  He flew in a Spitfire squadron and was killed at age 19, on December 11, 1941, during a training flight from the airfield near Scopwick, Lincolnshire.  He wrote his poem on the back of a letter to his parents, which stated, “I am enclosing a verse I wrote the other day.  It started at 30,000 feet, and was finished soon after I landed.”

This High Flight overlayed photograph, a vapor trail lost in a dazzling, cloud-layered sunset, when ordered, will appear as shown above (no frame, mount, or mat—that effect is graphically shown here only to demonstrate one of many variations possible), the text color taken from the image pallet, most complimentary for legibility within the tonal range of the underlying image.  Each print is custom made and inspected.  Returns for refunds cannot be accepted.
